Specialty chain of women's apparel stores with 306 stores open, Cache Inc reported December 2005 sales figures.
The Company noted that this fiscal year period includes 52-weeks versus 53-weeks in last year's fiscal period.
Therefore, for comparison purposes, the Company adjusted its prior year comparable store sales results to present equivalent periods to this year.
However, total sales for both the fourth quarter and full year of fiscal 2005 include one less week versus the same period last year.
Comparable Store Sales: (sales for stores open at least one year or more)
-- Increased 4 percent during the five week December 2005 period, as compared to the same period last year;
-- Increased 4 percent during the 13 week period ended December 31, 2005, as compared to the same period last year; and
-- Increased 4 percent during the 52 week period ended December 31, 2005, as compared to 5 percent in the same period last year.
Total Sales:
-- Increased $2.3 million or 6.5 percent to $37.7 million for the five week period ended December 31, 2005, as compared to $35.4 million for the five week period ended January 1, 2005;
-- Increased $0.7 million or 0.9 percent to $79.3 million for the 13 week period ended December 31, 2005, as compared to $78.6 million for the 14 week period ended January 1, 2005; and
-- Increased $19.0 million or 7.7 percent to $266.3 million for the 52 week fiscal year ended December 31, 2005, as compared to $247.3 million for the 53 week fiscal year last year.
