Federated appoints two new division principals

Nation's premier retailer Federated Department Stores announced the appointment of two new division principals effective July 31, 2006:

- Amy Hanson 47 has been named vice chairman for administration of its Minneapolis-based Macy's North division. Since July 2002, Hanson has served as president of The FACS Group, Federated's Cincinnati-based Financial, Administrative and Credit Services division.

- Michael J. Gatio 43 replaces Hanson as president of The FACS Group. Currently, Gatio serves as that division's executive vice president for credit operations and marketing.

In her new role as vice chairman at Macy's North, Hanson will join Chairman and CEO Frank J. Guzzetta and President and COO Robert M. Soroka as the division's principals. She will be responsible for finance and operations functions at Macy's North.

As president of FACS Gatio will lead the company's credit alliance with Citigroup, telephone customer experience, Star Rewards customer loyalty program and e-commerce customer support. He will report to Federated Vice Chair Tom Cole.

David L. Faulk 51 executive vice president of FACS will have a dual reporting relationship between FACS and Federated's corporate office. He will continue to be responsible for the FACS division's human resources and administration functions, reporting to Gatio. In his role overseeing the administration of benefits, employee services and payroll for Federated, Faulk will now report directly toDavid W. Clark, Federated senior vice president for human resources.
