True Religion Apparel Inc announced the signing of two lease agreements to open new stores in Short Hills, New Jersey, and Oyster Bay in Long Island, New York, further expanding its presence on the East Coast.
The True Religion stores will be in shopping centers developed and managed by luxury retail operator Taubman Centers Inc. Both stores will carry the entire True Religion line of apparel, including Men's, Women's, and Kid's denim jeans, jackets, shirts, T-shirts, skirts, fleece hoodies and pants, as well as sportswear, including knits, wovens, loungewear and outerwear.
The 1,475-square-foot store is scheduled to open in April 2007 in the affluent suburb of Short Hills in one of New Jersey's most upscale shopping destinations - The Mall at Short Hills. This mall ranks number two in sales per square foot nationally.
Other premium brands having stores in the mall include Louis Vutton, Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, Coach, Lacoste and Diesel as well as anchor stores Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's.
The 1,200-square-foot Oyster Bay store is scheduled to open in 2008 in a new Taubman development located in Nassau County containing other high-end retailers such as Juicy Couture, Burberry, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
Oyster Bay is home to some of the Eastern Seaboard's wealthiest individuals, also drawing New York City residents due to its popularity as a summertime destination. This new shopping center will be the only one on Long Island with immediate access from the Long Island Expressway.
