Van Laack launches apparel unit

On November 28, new apparel unit of Van Laack, a leading German textile and apparel corporation, started its operation at Ngoc Hoi industrial park in Hanoi city.
It will be the first unit with 100 percent ownership by German company in Vietnam.
This unit is constructed in area of 10,000 square meters with an investment of $3 million by Van Laack Asia.
Christian von Daniels, President of Van Laack, informed that since 1992 the company has sought favorable destination to carry out business in overseas. Earlier it was planning for places like North Africa, China, Eastern Europe and South East Asian countries but finally business started in Vietnam.
After joining WTO and escaping from commercial barriers, Vietnam will become ideal place for investment in apparel industry for South East Asia and Pacific regions, Christian von Daniels said.
The new unit in Ngoc Hoi can employ 600 workers and has capacity to produce 600,000 pieces per year.
