Apparel retailer Dress Barn comparable store sales rise in Jan

Dress Barn Inc reported its fiscal January and fiscal second quarter sales results.
Net sales for the four-week fiscal month ended January 27, 2007 increased 12% to $72.3 million compared to $64.5 million reported for the four weeks ended January 28, 2006. Comparable store sales increased 8% for the fiscal month of January.
Net sales for the thirteen-week fiscal period ended January 27, 2007 increased 10% to $340.5 million compared to $310.9 million reported for the comparable period ended January 28, 2006. Comparable store sales increased 5% for the fiscal quarter.
Dress Barn Inc is a leading national specialty apparel retailer offering quality career and casual fashion apparel through its dressbarn and maurices brands. As of January 27, 2007, the Company operated 806 dressbarn stores in 45 states and 562 maurices stores in 41 states.
