Deb Shops same store sales improved 4.7% for August

Specialty apparel stores operator Deb Shops Inc reported that comparable store sales increased 4.7 percent for the month ended August 31, 2005. Total sales increased 5.8 percent to $31.7 million from $29.9 million for the month ended August 31, 2004.

The Company reports financial results on the calendar month, therefore, differences in timing will occur when comparing Deb Shops' results to those of retailers reporting on a 4-5-4 calendar.
