Cauvery hi-tech weaving park in Tamil Nadu, is expected to be operational by June next year, as over 50 percent of the construction has been completed.
The weaving park will house 84 loom sheds, comprising over 700 modern shuttleless looms at an investment of nearly Rs142 crore.
Three sizing, six warping and four master weavers would also be employed here.
About 54 sheds are almost complete and the park is expected to provide direct employment to 1800 workers, and indirectly engage over 1500 people.
Total value of the products will round up to about Rs280 crore per year.
Italy's Carera group has signed MoU to source products while many European companies are also interested in sourcing their textile requirements from here.
