From January 2008, Italian based ITEMA Group is envisaging production from its Coimbatore textile machinery under the Savio brand name, with an estimated investment of nearly €5 million. This Indian textile spinning unit will use the latest technology of two-for-one twister.
The two-for-one twister technology is anticipated to increase productivity by 20 percent and also to reduce the energy consumption by 20 percent.
The upcoming ITEMA-Indian textile in Coimbatore will operate on an area of 88,000 square metre with an enclosed area of 15,000 square metres. Construction is almost on the verge of completion.
ITEMA Group is known to have 10 companies across the globe, seven research and development centers and existence in more than 90 countries. It is also in operation as ITEMA America and ITEMA Shanghai in USA and China respectively. Besides, it also engages a total of 2,890 employees and has a turn over of about €667 million.
