Aptos, a leader in retail technology solutions, has announced that Italian brand Yamamay, part of Pianoforte group, has extended its use of Aptos PLM to support the brand’s sustainability initiatives. With Aptos’ advanced PLM functionality, Yamamay will benefit from improved traceability, control, and transparency across the entire product lifecycle.

With a long-standing focus on the beauty and quality of its products, Yamamay is equally committed to improving the sustainability of its collections. To that end, the enhanced use of Aptos PLM provides Yamamay with complete traceability for all materials and components used, including fabrics, cups, and underwires. The solution also empowers Yamamay to track communications and activities with suppliers and to centralise the management of certifications and processes related to quality control and environmental compliance, according to Aptos.

In addition to enhanced PLM functionality related to traceability, Yamamay is also now leveraging dynamic line planning within Aptos PLM that allows its designers and merchandisers to reach new levels of collaboration. Business and strategic objectives such as number of styles, style colours, target margins, and costs are communicated to Yamamay’s design and product development teams from the earliest stages of development, meaning all functions are on the same page right from the beginning. The ability of Aptos PLM to provide a combined view of the collection, both analytical and visual, helps decision-makers immediately understand how new styles will work together, Aptos said.

Trusted by hundreds of retail brands worldwide, Aptos PLM provides complete collection management across the product lifecycle, giving design, product management, planning and buying teams the tools they need to continuously bring their brand to life. Key benefits for Aptos PLM customers often include reduction in sampling and prototyping costs, a faster time to market, increased development team productivity and more, according to a media statement by Aptos.

“Yamamay has been utilising Aptos PLM for over a decade, and throughout this time, the solution has continued to evolve to support the needs of our business, our customers and the overall retail market. An example of this is the solution’s ability to support our group’s commitment to, and our customers’ expectations for, more eco-friendly fashions. By managing all certifications related to materials and components, supporting effective communications with suppliers, and providing on-demand access to critical product information, Aptos PLM helps us achieve optimal transparency over our product development and production processes; this ensures that our end-to-end product lifecycle aligns with our organisational values,” Barbara Cimmino, corporate social responsibility director of Yamamay said in a press release by Aptos.

“The rise of digital-first consumers has brought significant disruption to supply chains, and the impact on product design has been extreme. Brands today are challenged to move faster, delivering highly relevant and differentiated collections, while also prioritising environmental concerns and earning shoppers’ trust. Yamamay is at the forefront in applying business process transformations that support its commitment to quality and sustainability. We are proud of the long-term partnership we’ve shared with Yamamay and appreciate the trust this leading retailer places in Aptos PLM,” Aptos CEO, Pete Sinisgalli said.

Yamamay is based in Gallarate, Italy, and its collections include the latest trends in underwear, swimwear, clothing and accessories for women, men and kids. Established in 2001, Yamamay has a network of over 600 stores worldwide, with more than 450 of those shops located in Italy.
