According to the latest Customs statistics, in September this year China exported 6686 tons of polyester yarn, marking a massive year-on-year drop of 40.26 percent. This also marked a fall of 2610 tons or 28.08 percent from the previous month.
However, the average export price stood at around US $2530 per ton, recording a hike of 6.15 and 16.26 percent from the previous month and same period of 2007, respectively.
In the first three quarters, China's total exports of polyester yarn completed 78,541 tons, down 7.29 percent from the same time last year. The average export price was $2373 per ton, up 10.84 percent over the corresponding period of 2007.
Meanwhile, September imports of polyester yarn marked considerable year-on-year rise of 5.56 percent to reach 1726 tons. This is 3.86 percent higher over that of August.
The average import price was $2269 per ton, down 0.31 percent from the previous month, and 3.29 percent from same period last year.
From January to September, Country's total imports of polyester yarn presented 17,674 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.77 percent. The average import price was about $2260 per ton, registering a growth of 2.05 percent over the same period last year.
