Alhokair, a franchise retailer in Saudi Arabia, has signed a franchise agreement with Alo Yoga, a US-based yoga and athleisure brand. Alhokair can introduce its Saudi fashion-savvy customers to Alo Yoga’s high quality yoga clothing and accessories via its e-commerce channels and store network, with the first mall outlet to open at Kingdom Centre, Riyadh.

In line with its strategy to offer Saudi customers an enriching, unique and omni-channel retail experience, Alhokair is diversifying its product offering to meet the rising demand for comfy, functional, and fashionable clothing and accelerate its growth in the country. The partnership with Alo Yoga is aligned with Alhokair’s goal of spreading a healthy and active lifestyle in the country by supporting a community in which holistic practices such as yoga are becoming a way of life. Notably, this is Alo Yoga’s first franchise agreement outside the US, according to a press release by Alhokair.

“Triggered in part by the pandemic, Saudi customers have in the last year or so become increasingly health and fitness focused and have begun incorporating exercise routines into their daily life. In keeping with this trend, we have seen strong growth in customers choosing to shop for exclusive sports and athleisurewear brands from around the world, in stores and online. As a leading retailer in Saudi Arabia, we are keen to address these shifts in customer preferences. Through online and offline solutions, we are focused on diversifying our product mix and offering our customers a truly omni-channel retail experience, which we believe is the future. By joining our family of brands, Alo Yoga with a young, always-on-the-go following, can expect to rapidly expand its presence in the Kingdom, and eventually across the region,” Marwan Moukarzel, CEO of Alhokair said in a statement.

“This is a ground-breaking partnership for us, as we expand our global footprint starting with Saudi Arabia. We are excited that the Saudi market has become increasingly health and fitness focused and are glad we can be there for that as our mission is to spread health and wellness as well as build community,” MarcoDeGeorge, co-founder and co-CEO of Alo Yoga said.

Alo Yoga is a lifestyle brand, recently named to Fast Company’s list of Most Innovative Brands and known for its studio-to-street fashion with a focus on health, wellness and mindfulness, and giving back to the community through CSR efforts. The business is focused on growing and diversifying its retail offer into a lifestyle experience, by building an omni-channel footprint in domestic and international markets.
