Perry Ellis ropes in Al Derago as Senior VP of Nike Swim Division

Fashion designing company Perry Ellis International Inc announced Al Derago has been appointed senior vice president of the Nike swim division, effective June 20. Mr. Derago will report to Oscar Feldenkreis, president, vice-chairman and COO of Perry Ellis International.

Mr. Derago, who will be based in Portland, Ore., will continue to build the company's strong Nike's athletic swim business, and use the power of the Nike brand to expand market share.

"Al brings to Perry Ellis over two decades of experience with the Nike brand," Feldenkreis said. "His proven success in sales and merchandising will help us maximize the possibilities of our Nike swim license."

Mr. Derago was formerly the director of sales for Nike team sports. In this position, he was responsible for total sales in licensed business, institutional team sales, team sports equipment and specialty business. Prior to that position, Mr. Derago was the sales merchandising GM for Nike Apparel, responsible for sport graphics and headwear. He also spent time in the field as a territory sales manager.
