Through a combination of technology and carbon management expertise, oil and petrochemical major BP has launched PTAir, a new low carbon and also carbon neutral PTA, which is more sustainable solution for the polyester value chain. The company has used proprietary PX and PTA technology which supports a 29 per cent lower global warming potential.

According to BP, the global warming potential is 29 per cent lower than the average European PTA production and this low carbon benefit has been independently assured by ERM CVS3.

While PTAir Neutral is the world’s first certified carbon neutral PTA, with the opportunity to customers to offset their entire product footprint, over and above their PTA use, to achieve full carbon neutrality across their product portfolio. (AR)
