Efforts are under way to boost the Indian economy and create five crore jobs, according to minister for road transport, highways and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) Nitin Gadkari, who recently said developing infrastructure, rural agriculture and tribal development is also a priority. The issue is challenging, but the economy will progress fast, he said.

The government does not run in silos and has to take care of all aspects, a news agency quoted the minister as saying.

Comprehensive plans are under way to develop MSMEs that account for 29 per cent of the growth, he added.
