  • In 2022, EU's inland waterway transport displayed a marked dip with a 10 per cent decrease in activity compared to 2021.
  • While most nations recorded a slump, Lithuania and Finland bucked the trend with increases of 251 per cent and 31 per cent.
  • Notably, nearly three-quarters of the activity was monopolised by the Netherlands and Germany.
