More than 600 delegates from the global cotton community participated at the recent trade event hosted by International Cotton Association (ICA). The two-day event in Hong Kong provided the delegates an international opportunity to network and do business successfully. Next year's trade event is scheduled to take place in Liverpool during October 10-11.

With keynote sessions from Joe Nicosia (Louis Dreyfus company), Bruce Atherley (Cotton Council International) and Madam Gao Fang (China Cotton Association), the sustainability panel session was chaired by Bill Ballenden (Dragontree).

"Being a spinner leading an association that was always regarded as the domain of the merchants and shippers was a very daunting prospect. I hope that I have been able to navigate successfully. I stand here before you which goes to prove that I have survived in one piece and can hand over the mantle to my successor," ICA president Bill Ballenden. (RR)
