Miroglio Textiles, an Italian firm for printed fabrics, transfer printing, and staple yarn, is showing its 2018-19 fall winter collection celebrating its 70th anniversary, at the Miroglio Textile stand, at the ongoing Premiere Vision Paris, a global expo for all famous fashion brands and companies around the world, being held from September 19 to 21, 2017.

The celebrations for Miroglio Textile’s 70th anniversary lie behind the creation of an exclusive collection with 1950s-inspired prints and fabrics. Selected from Miroglio Textile’s historical archive, which contains more than 50,000 patterns, the original prints have been reworked with a contemporary approach while maintaining their authenticity, creating a timeless collection.

The prints are on display in the exhibition entitled “70 years of Miroglio - Innovation is the tradition of our territory” inaugurated recently in the heart of the group’s historic hometown of Alba, taking on the form of a collection of precious, timeless womenswear garments.

The Miroglio Textile stand will also be the venue for the presentation of the new F/W 2018-19 collection, where music is the source of inspiration for five creative territories: British Rock, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Spirituals, Techno, and Dark Metal.

The musical genres have been chosen for their rhythm, historical period or the impressions they conjure up. Each theme has a precise setting, and is accompanied by different expressions of colour.

British Rock brings to mind the surroundings for study and culture typically found in a college. A refined, very British world, in which simple yet stylish prints are preferred, such as hound’s-tooth check, chevrons, tartans, and small flowers.

In Rock ‘n’ Roll, we find an urban environment where “street culture” comes to the fore. A vibrant, colourful theme focusing on the 50s-60s and 70s-80s. At the Spiritual, or rather Nepalese music, we can find a rural setting featuring wild nature in which man becomes an explorer.

Techno takes us to a virtual environment in which - rather than opposing nature - technology seeks a dialogue with it. A techno-virtual world where the new futurism is made up of lively vibrations, beeps, LEDs, and neon lights.

Finally, Dark Metal shows a mysterious, dark Baroque environment inspired by film noir that concentrates on deep, dark shades with dazzling lights as demonstrated by the Flemish and Renaissance painters. (GK)
