All agro-forestry projects carried out by Farfarm in Brazil have natural fibres as the main crop, apart from a focus on native species from the respective biome and cash crops and food crops for the local communities, said chief executive officer Beto Bina. It is also offers consultancy to fashion brands, helping them make their supply chain more sustainable.

The company’s two pilots, both in Brazil, one in the state of Pará (Amazon biome) and other in the state of Minas Gerais (Cerrado biome) will harvest and test cotton by the first quarter of 2020, BIna told Fibre2Fashion in an interview. (DS)
