Taiwanese textile makers bag big orders at ISPO Munich

The 2012 edition of ISPO Munich, a global exposition of sports products, which went on from January 29 to February 1 this year, helped Taiwanese textile producers to bag orders worth US$ 2.6 million, the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) said.
It added that further orders of US$ 25 million are also soon likely to be placed with the Taiwanese textile makers.
Over 2,000 visitors visited the Taiwan Pavilion, the biggest stall at the expo.
More than 70 percent of the outdoor sports functional fabrics used by the US and European brands are supplied by Taiwanese textile producers, TTF said.
It added that a minimum of six overseas outdoor apparel firms including Lafuma, Haglofs and Vaude Sport GmbH & Co. KG., have expressed their interest in attending the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show, which is slated to take place in April this year.
According to TTF, ISPO provides the Taiwanese textile firms with a good opportunity to promote themselves in the international markets.
Messe Munchen GmbH, organizer of the fair, informed that the next edition of the expo would take place from February 3 to 6, 2013.
