Worsted suiting producer and SK Birla Group Company – Digjam reported a net loss of Rs 51.9 million in the third quarter ending December 2011.
Digjam has clocked net profits of Rs 600,000 in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year, it said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Net revenues too dipped to Rs 330.3 million in the third quarter, down 6.61 percent from a year earlier.
The textile maker has attributed the losses to high import costs of wool due to firming up of the Australian dollar and a slowdown in demand from its domestic and global markets.
