Texworld closed its doors after three days distinguished by an increased number of attendees and exhibitors. The thirteenth edition of Texworld USA showcased 328 exhibitors from 15 countries, a 2 percent increase from July 2011. Including the attendees from the co-located International Apparel Sourcing Show and Home Textiles Sourcing Expo shows, the triple event as a whole welcomed 5,285 attendees, a 5 percent increase over July 2011.

“The attendee number and quality demonstrate that Texworld USA continues to be the most important sourcing hotspot for apparel fabrics in North America,” says John P. Gallagher, President & CEO of Messe Frankfurt Inc. “We registered new and returning decision makers from renowned brands such as DKNY, JC Penney, Kohl’s, Macy’s and Ralph Lauren.”

Jemmalyn Santos-Kretten of J Crew Madewell remarks: “I have come to many shows and have never been disappointed. Texworld gives you this great balance of price and variety. It takes me two days to find all my novelties, cotton tweeds, laces and knits.”

Many attendees heeded the reorganized show floor enabling them to find all exhibitors at a glance, among them manufacturers and vendors of accessories, cotton, emobroidery, functional fabrics, knits, polyester, silk, trim and wool. The new Turkey National Pavilion was praised for its variety of luxurious Turkish apparel while the Taiwan National Pavilion also received positive feedback. In total, 15 countries including China, India, Korea, Turkey and the United States were represented at Texworld USA.

Lenzing Innovation continued to partner with Messe Frankfurt for the thirteenth edition of the show. The Lenzing Innovation Pavilion was the biggest in the history of Texworld USA. Over 40 companies showcased their new MicroModal and Edelweiss technologies. “Lenzing had excellent traffic at our booth throughout the three days. We are pleased to have the Texworld USA show to support our mill partners develop their business with US buyers,“ adds Tricia Carey, Merchandising Manager from Lenzing.

Trend Forum and Seminar program receive positive feedback
The top French designers and consultants Louis Gerin and Gregory Lamaud from 2G2L Fashion Design and Consulting brought the latest apparel and sourcing fabric trends to Texworld USA. Their much anticipated trend forum inspired many attendees for their selection of the upcoming collections. Priscella Shum, Buyer at Jessica Simpson, says: “I liked the trend area because it seemed bigger than last year and gave me an idea of what is new for the upcoming season.”
