Shahzad Ali Khan elected Chairman APTMA Punjab unopposed

Mr Shahzad Ali Khan is elected unopposed as Chairman All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Punjab region for the year 2012-13, according to the unofficial results of the Association.

He is a seasoned industrialist and Chief Executive Officer of Standard Spinning Mills (Pvt.) Ltd.

According to the unofficial results, the Gohar Ejaz-led Businessmen Group has secured all seats of the Managing Committee, as no nomination from any other group was received in the elections for 2012-13.

Mr Mahmood Ihsan is elected as Senior Vice Chairman, followed by Mr S. M. Imran as Vice Chairman and Mr Abdul Rahim Nasir as Treasurer.

Those elected as members of Regional Managing Committee APTMA Punjab included Mr Muhammad Haseeb, Mr Irtaza Ahmad, Mr Umar Shafi, Khawaja Muhammad Aman, Mr Hussain Ahmad Fazal, Mr Anees Muhammad Khawaja, Ch. Salamat Ali, Mr Shargeel Khalid and Mr Habib Anwar.

The newly elected Regional Managing Committee will be inducted into office in the 56th Annual General Meeting scheduled to be held on 30th September 2012.

The Group Leader APTMA Gohar Ejaz has congratulated all the newly-elected office bearers and Managing Committee members of APTMA Punjab region. He said the textile industry is facing serious challenges ahead and only hard work with a clear vision can ensure its sustainability and growth. He has expressed the hope that Shahzad Ali Khan and his team would make sincere efforts to solve industry problems both at micro and macro levels. He said Shahzad Ali Khan has already been very active as Chairman Energy Committee and interacted with government departments to represent APTMA’s viewpoint effectively.
