We also look forward to showcasing creations by newly qualified budding designers in the Designer's Nest shows at the same venue on Friday at 2.30 pm, and Sunday at 2.30 pm. Sunday's show will really be a time for celebration because this is when we reveal which of the Nordic graduates will receive the Designer's Nest prize of DKK 50,000.
This year, teams of graduates from seven schools in the Nordic region are taking part. Danmarks Designskole, Designskolen i Kolding and TEKO of Denmark. Beckmans Designhögskola and Högskolan i Borås from Sweden and University of Art and Design, Helsinki, Finland.
The Icelandic Academy of the Arts is also participating this year for the first time, which means we are bringing together the budding creative design talents of the whole Nordic region at Øksnehallen.
There's a whole world outside Øksnehallen's clothes Mecca – a world where a blanket and a tent can save human lives. This is especially so in Pakistan, where many people are still struggling to survive and rebuild their lives.
We have commissioned a T-shirt priced at DKK 150 and all the sales proceeds will go directly to the victims of the disaster in Pakistan. Buy one in reception and do your part to help.
