Prices of ethylene increased in Asian and European markets during the week ending September 7, 2013, due to higher upstream product prices and tight supply in the region.

The average prices for the fortnight ending August 31 were in the range of US$ 1215/ton to US$ 1220/ton in the Far East Asian market and in the range of US$ 1340-1345/ton in the Southeast Asian market.
