International shoes manufacturer ECCO Shoes announced that Vice President of Sales, Thomas Nelson, has been named president. He succeeds Jan Stig Andersen who recently resigned, but will remain at the company through August 2005. Mr. Nelson will officially take over responsibility as president on August 1, 2005 and will work alongside Mr. Andersen to ensure a smooth transition.

"They look forward to working with Tom as we continue to grow ECCO's presence in the United States," said Flemming O. Nielsen, senior vice president of ECCO International Sales and Retail. "Tom has brought continued passion and leadership to the company and played a significant role in increasing ECCO's growth in the U.S. becoming the single largest market for ECCO. His product expertise and footwear knowledge were key factors in the decision making process."

Mr. Nelson joined ECCO USA in June 2003 as the vice president of sales. He is a veteran in the footwear industry with more than 20 years of senior sales and management experience with such companies as Rockport, Converse and Stride Rite. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Mr. Nelson currently resides in Northboro, Massachusetts.

ECCO, headquartered in Denmark, is one of the world's leading shoe manufacturers, known for their innovation and comfort footwear. As the seventh largest shoe company in the world, ECCO produces more than 12 million shoes per year in 50 countries.
