Industry Ministry proposes PM to urge US to remove textile quotas

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai recently has been proposed by Industry Ministry that he must request the US government to remove or to provide relaxation to some to extend in textile quotas.
The Industry Ministry's proposals to Prime Minister Khai over measures, is to enhance the country's textile production and exports.
Mr. Khai's is scheduled to visit to the US, begins from June 19. His group includes a large number of leading textile producers, which expects to seek partnership with the US business group and to boost exports to the potential market.
Only the US still retains quota restrictions on Vietnam's largest textile importer countries.
Textiles accounts second largest foreign currency earner after crude oil.
During the trip, Khai will meet with US President George W. Bush at the White House on June 21.
The two leaders will talk on the measures to boost co-operation on a range of bilateral, regional and international issues.
