The just concluded 40th instalment of Argentinean fashion revelry Buenos Aires Alta Moda (BAAM) showcased an array of vibrant apparels from the South American country’s emerging and leading names.

Self-taught designer Domenico Di Carlo celebrated the 40th anniversary of his career as a fashion designer with his latest couture collection titled 40 anni. Made from yards of flowing silk and satin as well as luxuriant sheer materials, the range included floor sweeping gowns in shades of steel, blush pink and fiery red.

The Entrepreneurs of Our Land catwalk show featured lines of naturally dyed environment-friendly designs from Neuquinas Crafts, Red Puna, La Rua Chaky Ushuta, Mills United Communities, Jezebel Gerik, Nev tissues and Carpinch corner at the week-long soiree.

In addition to the style studded glitzy runway presentations, the Argentina Fashion Week also hosted a special show, paying homage to the sudden demise of designer Jorge Ibáñez.

With the attendance of the who’s who of the country, the tributary programme saw about 38 non-professional models, with different professions such as teachers and clinical psychologists, walking on the runway with powerful slogans against violence upon women.
