Textile trade fair, Colombiatex of the Americas which runs from January 27-29, 2015 in Colombia will see nearly 500 exhibitors showing various textile goods ranging from yarns, fabrics, dyes and chemicals, etc.

In the last 17 years, Colombiatex of the Americas has established itself as the most important business centre for the Latin American textile sector with a compelling value offer.

Inexmoda, organisers of the trade show are expecting over 10,000 domestic and international buyers during the three days of the fair.

The organisers also expect Colombiatex to generate business opportunities of approximately US $267 million.

Colombiatex offers assistance of translators to exhibitors for meetings and also provides guided visits around the trade show.

According to Inexmoda, the show comes with an aim to boost the sector in 2015, considering that the Colombian industry will face various challenges during the year.

These challenges include, global slowdown, contracted consumer spending, arrival of more brands in the market, growing inflation, higher interest rates, etc.

The Colombian textile sector accounts for 0.8 per cent of GDP, 7.5 per cent of manufacturing GDP, 2.4 per cent of exports and also generates 17 per cent of industrial employment, according to Inexmoda.
