Sumeet Industries to take part in Dhaka yarn & fabric show

Gujarat-based Sumeet Industries will participate in the 9th Dhaka International Yarn & Fabric Show 2015 to be held from September 2-5 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.

“We are expecting a positive response from buyers for our polyester yarns/chips and cotton yarns at the fair,” Hemant Shah, senior manager-Exports, Sumeet Industries told Fibre2Fashion.

“We will be available at Booth number 17 at 'Media Bazar' hall within India Pavilion at the venue,” said Shah, who will also be attending the fair.

Last month, the polyester multifilament yarn producer started commercial production of a 3,500 tons per annum carpet yarn manufacturing plant, which is expected to generate additional revenue of Rs 75 crore for the company.

The company is also in the process of exploring and adding some more value added category of yarns in its product basket.

The promoters have been engaged in trading of synthetic fabric and were among the few early movers to start synthetic processing in Surat in early 1990s.

Sensing great potential in textiles, it diversified into manufacturing of yarn in the early 1990s and established Sumeet Synthetics Pvt Ltd and then later a unit to manufacture polypropylene multifilament yarn.

The Dhaka International Yarn & Fabric Show is an international exhibition dedicated to the textile, fabrics and garment sectors in Bangladesh. (RKS)
