· DERVISH circa 1987 Images of twirling Dervish' lost in dance to the rebellious sufi music led to Abu & Sandeep to create long Multi-Kali Kurta's, with churi sleeves as an ode to them.
MINIATURE circa 1989 Mystical interpretations of traditional Miniature paintings were embroidered, covered with glass and then appliquéd on various fabrics to create the stunning Miniature Line. CRUSH circa 1987
It is not through traditional knowledge that Abu & Sandeep decided to use crushed fabrics as a line for their first Label JASHAN.
One of their tailors stained a silk garment, which was personally washed by Abu. When Sandeep saw the garment the next day, he decided to do a line of crushed garments.
· MARODI circa 1993 Marodi is a form of embroidery, using gold thread, which is twisted and stitched. This line is the literal name for the traditional form of embroidery used in it.
· MIRRORWORK circa 1990 The first Mirror work outfit was a wedding dress for Reema Kapoor. So impressed were Maharaja Bhowani Singh and Maharani Padmini of Jaipur with this outfit, that they ordered a mirror work garment in red for their daughter Diya's 18 th birthday celebrations.
· ARCHITECTURAL circa 1991 One day Abu and Sandeep were passing the Purana Qila in Delhi. The arches and colors inspired them to work out a structured inspiration of the fort. They decided not to use any glitter, only resham silk thread embroidery in earth colors to create the Architectural Line.
