At the annual Australian Masters of Fashion event open to all students studying to become fashion designers and professional designers across the country, Kylie Murray's evening gown was recently featured.
Murray entered the student eveningwear section where she competed against 40 other entries, although her design did not reach the finals, but judges acknowledged her work as an outstanding effort for her first attempt.
This 19-year-old studies at the College of Fashion in East Melbourne and said she was keen to open up her own fashion business after graduation.
She is eager to compete with the best designers in the Australian Industry and hopes to register her own label, Alskice, soon.
Kooweerup local Sam Smith made the model's jewelry and she is hoping to attract local sponsors for next year's awards. She got the inspiration for the design when her pet cat sat on a piece of shiny material and was in awe how well the fur and fabric looked together.
She also drew inspiration from movies such as the 1964 classic My Fair Lady.
