Dharti exhibition to display various forms of jute

Pondicherry based, Dharti (Development of Hessian Articles Research and Training Institution) has organized the Jute Fair with the support of the Ministry of Textiles, Jute Manufacturers Development Council (JMDC) and National Centre for Jute and Tejaa - Tamil Nadu Entrepreneurs of Jute Articles Association.
This exhibition will start on September 18, 2006 at the C.P. Art Centre and will showcase wall hangings, doormats, kalamkari works, jewelry, window blinds, jute paper products, carpets, gift articles and file folders.
Apart from traditional use, jute is being used in various ways such as letter holders, pen stands, mobile phone pouches, multi-coloured bags, purses and floor mates. Moreover it prevents pollution, Chief Secretary of Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department L K Tripathy stated.
