Uganda is trying to transform itself into industry based economy from agrarian economy. Key for a successful transformation is value addition to their low value primary products exports.
East Asian countries are one of the examples of poor countries transforming into economic power through industrialization.
Countries like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea successfully transformed their economy not only by understanding resource endowment, physical and human capital levels etc but also by establishing institutions and systems that ensured they did something about it.
Government and market system plays an important role in economic transformation.
