International fashion brands keen to play in domestic market

India is one of the fastest growing luxury goods market in the world and is catching up with the latest global fashion trends.
Recognising huge opportunities and potential, international clothing brands like Gucci, Calvin Klein, Mango, Crocodile, Guess, Hugo Boss, Esprit, and many more are planning to penetrate the Indian market and play for their share.
Statastics reveals that the market size for premium to luxury apparel is about Rs1,062 crore and expected to grow at a rate of 14 percent for premium wear and at 25 percent for luxury wear by 2012.
International brands have identified India, Russia and China as happening markets and are trying to explore different avenues to mark their existence in these markets.
