The third edition of POP Asia, an annual Expo & Convention Forum for the Marketing-at-Retail industry, will have a new module, VM&RD Retail Design Awards, in 2007.
The Awards ceremony will felicitate design firms and retail brands in India that successfully use design to create aesthetic and effective retail spaces.
Says Vasant Jante, Project Head, POP Asia, “As the retail space in India explodes, retail design, as an aggregate of all the strategic, tactical, aesthetic and material inputs involved, will be one of the key differentiators of retail excellence."

The VM&RD – Retail Design Awards will be held on the evening of the second day of POP Asia 2007 in New Delhi . The entries for the Awards will be divided into various categories product / service, retail formats and by size of the stores.
Apart from this primary classification, entries will also compete in other design practice-related sections like store planning, fixturing, lighting, visual merchandising etc.
The entries will be judged by a panel comprising Indian and international professionals from design, retail and brand marketing. The participation fee for the design awards is Rs. 5000. The entry for participation in Retail Design Award closes on Sunday 31, December 2006.
Says Jante, “POP Asia already has an Expo and Conventions segment that address the interaction and information needs of the In-Store marketing community in the region. With the addition of the Retail Design Awards, the event becomes an all-inclusive forum for issue related to successful retail in the country.”
