Fancy slub yarn attachment to boost jeans exports

On February 9, 2007, a seminar was held by the Department of Textile Technology (DTT) of the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST).
In the seminar, experts pointed out that domestic production of fancy slub yarns can increase exports of jeans.
This can be made possible by fixing newly invented slub yarn attachment in spinning frame of existing mills.
As textile and garment sector is prominent foreign currency earner, experts stressed on the need to have arrangements for industrial research and development.
They also discussed about the cost and operational efficiency of new attachment of slub yarn developed.
