TTK medical fabric unit coming up at Kinfra Apparel Park

TTK Healthcare Services Pvt Ltd is developing a medical fabric unit at Kinfra Apparel Park in Kazhakoottam, with technical guidance for the unit to be given by Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST).
Park has rented 1.6 acres land area for the facility at a cost of Rs23.51 lakhs. Unit will feature a two-storey building, with 14,000 square feet area on ground floor and first floor occupying about 4,500 square feet. Construction of the building is almost over.
TTK Healthcare will start production activities by December this year, with allotment finalized in 2005. But it is waiting for clearance from the Pollution Control Board. Unit should be functional before May 2007.
According to Kinfra Apparel Park's Managing Director Krishnakumar, fabric unit's products will comprise cardiac repair path fabric, components of heart-valve, polypropylene mesh for hernia and vascular graft prosthesis. Textile products will be mostly related to medical devices.
