Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi is scheduled to address industry chambers today in Mumbai at the India-Italy business forum.
The forum is being organised by Assocham, CII and FICCI, along with their Italian counterparts Confidustria, Instituto Nazionale per Il Commercio Estero and Assozione Bancaria Italiana, an official statement said here.
Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath would also participate in the forum.
Italy recognizes India as an important trade and economic ally. Visit by a high-level delegation comprising 150 government and business decision makers would help strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
Major sectors being considered for bilateral cooperation include infrastructure, IT, industrial machinery, healthcare, textiles, gems and jewellery, fashion design, leather, food processing, energy, automobile and tourism.
