Provisional data on Fiji's total imports for the month of November 2006 was FJD283.1 million, domestic exports was FJD52.9 million and total exports was FJD85.5 million.
Compared to the previous corresponding month, imports increased by FJD9.6 million [3.5%]; domestic exports increased by FJD2.9 million [5.7%] and re-exports decreased by FJD1.0 million [3.1%].
The November 2006 trade deficit amounted to FJD197.7 million.
Domestic Exports
Prepared foodstuffs, beverages, spirits & tobacco and textiles & textil articles comprised 51.4 per cent of domestic exports. Prepared foodstuffs, beverages, spirits & tobacco contributed 29.7 per cent and textile & textile articles contributed 21.7 per cent.
Re-exports
Re-exports totalled FJD32.6 million. Petroleum products sold to visiting ships, aircraft and to the neighbouring Pacific Island countries earned FJD26.0 million.
