More export benefits for textile expected in Budget, Akhil Jindal

Textile sector is concerned over the upcoming Union Budget scheduled for February 28. Top companies are hoping that changes in this budget will spell growth for them.
Speaking exclusively to Fibre2fashion, Akhil Jindal, President, Welspun India Limited, stated his expectations from Budget 2007-2008.
Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) should be continued.
Government must provide more export benefits because textile exporters are prime revenue earners.
There should be slash in excise tariffs.
Favourable policies are anticipated from the Government as India is performing well in textiles on the global front.
