Speed Knitting Championships at Handarbeit & Hobby 2007

From 30 March to 1 April 2007 hall 2 of the Cologne Exhibition Grounds will be devoted to the 25th jubilee of handarbeit & hobby (h&h): the trade fair internationally renowned for knitting, embroidery, needlework and handicrafts.

205 exhibitors from 26 countries – ranging from Australia, Hong Kong, Russia,Turkey and Hungary to the USA – have already announced that they will be participating in this most important industry event of its kind.

Alongside the host country, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain are the most strongly represented countries. The share of exhibitors from abroad currently totals almost 53 percent. Traditionally, the Cologne-based event has always attracted members of the trade from throughout the world. Last year, Messe Frankfurt Ausstellungen GmbH once again recorded an all-time high of approximately 8,900 trade visitors.

A quarter came from abroad.The remarkable Jubilee Programme has been shaped by expertise, innovative spirit and boundless creativity. Visitors will, for example, be able to try out Tunisian crocheting in HobbyArt's workshop programme (bit-Verlag) - an striking technique that combines knitting and crocheting and results in an attractive 'woven look'.

Turbo-knitting for scarves & Co. will also be on offer at minute intervals. Striking, homemade, cuddly chenille creations, tatting friendship bracelets, hand spinning and the creation of fabulous accessories or machine sewing with special needles are just a few examples of the multitude of workshops on offer.
