Tex-Ray Industrial has planned to introduce an organic cotton project, in which local growers will supply the company with their produce.
The largest trader of operated production in Africa, Tex-Ray will provide a relief package for the farmers, which will benefit them as well as the company.
There will be no limit on the supply of organic cotton as the company will consume whatever is offered by the Swaziland farmers.
Minister of Economic Planning and Development Reverend Muntu Dlamini applauded the project and said, “Moreover, it will minimize costs because in the past there used to be imputs, which were very expensive (such as pesticides) so this one is better because farmers will need nothing in terms of chemicals.”
Tex-Ray is certain that organic cotton business will be successful in Swaziland. However, the company was waiting for several potential US clients, before it takes on a full-fledge operation, here.
