MAS Holdings to set textile SEZ with $700 mn investment

MAS Holdings, the Sri Lankan company which is one of largest suppliers of intimate apparel, sports wear and leisure wear is planning to invest $700 million to set up a textile SEZ at Nellore in Andhra Pradesh.
The company has acquired 700 acres in the area and expects to be able to complete all required formalities in the next few months.
The premium inner wear manufacturer plans to start its operation within next 18 months providing direct employment to 31,000 people.
Brandix, another Sri Lankan firm got clearance for their 404-hectare apparel SEZ in Vishakhapatnam.
