The week under report was shortened by the Easter Holidays and resulted in lower turnovers. The wait and see attitude of several mills´ buyers was supported by declining quotations at the New York cotton futures market.
At the beginning of the week, the local merchants reported about a slightly better demand, which however did not yet lead to new contracts at larger extent.
In the Upland range turnovers were registered in Central Asian sorts for the 2nd and 3rd quarter 2007; West African types for the same period of time; Sudan Acala for the 2nd quarter 2007, and Ethiopian cotton for delivery dates in the 2nd and 3rd quarter 2007.
In the ELS/LS range were traded: Egyptian GIZA 86 and Israel Pima for the 2nd quarter 2007; USA Pima for the 2nd and 4th quarter 2007, as well as Sudan Barakat for prompt.
