Koelnmesse presents first highlights of the congress program; program to be augmented by Speakers Corner for corporate presentations From sourcing to selling, today's textile-processing industries have a thoroughly global outlook, as they have to transport large quantities of goods and data across great distances.

Only by interacting with great precision can the participants in this market ensure that the goods arrive at the consumers when and where they are required. To make this possible, companies are increasingly employing sophisticated IT systems to meet the diverse range of requirements of the market's participants.

Despite their growing complexity, the systems have to be secure, highly flexible and easy to use. This is necessary since communication errors lead to product errors, which no-one can afford in today's hotly contested markets. That's why the increase in demand for customized IT tools is also leading to a growing demand for information on current and future solutions for day-to-day business activities.

This is where the concept for the IMB Forum on Information Technology comes into play. From November 21 to 22, 2007, the Cologne exhibition center will present a comprehensive congress program that focuses on the entire supply chain, extending from procurement and the production stage all the way to merchandise management systems. The focus is increasingly on collaborative concepts that involve not only internal process participants, but also external ones.

For this reason, the theme of the clothing-oriented presentations on the first day of the IMB Forum for Information Technology 2007 (November 21, 2007) will be the “Creation of a clothing community – collaborative approaches to success”. The morning of the first day of the event is devoted to “Collaborative development concepts”.

In this series of presentations, renowned scientists will report on their experiences with open innovation and the studies they have conducted in this field. The presentations will be supplemented by vivid examples of how the process is applied in practice in industry. For example, Prof. Frank Piller (Aachen Technical University and MIT) and Prof.
