Lamy lauds Hong Kong – China's multilateral trading system

Hong Kong, China's overall DDAGTF contribution has now reached CHF1.2 million. This donation will finance technical assistance programmes and training activities for developing and least developed countries as well as economies in transition.
The aim is to better adapt their practices and laws to WTO rules and disciplines, improve the implementation of their obligations and enhance the exercise of their membership rights.
WTO Director General Pascal Lamy declared “I am happy of Hong Kong, China's constant efforts to help developing countries benefit from the multilateral trading system through the Doha Development Fund.”
Hong Kong, China's Permanent Representative to the WTO Martin Glass stated “Hong Kong, China is fully committed to the World Trade Organization and supports efforts in assisting less developed Members to better participate in the multilateral trading system."
"Our contribution to the Doha Development Agenda Global Trust Fund concretely illustrates our dedication in these respects.”
