RadiciGroup inaugurates automated plant at Noyfil SA in Stabio

Jun '07
Noyfil SA, a RadiciGroup company located in Stabio, Switzerland, specializing in the production and sale of Radyarn and Starlight polyester yarn, inaugurated its new automated line for handling and packaging polyester yarn.

Founded by RadiciGroup in the mid 1970s, Noyfil SA boasts over thirty years of experience. Today it has about 180 employees and a production capacity of over 30,000 tons per year. Noyfil's 2006 sales amounted to more than EUR 60,000,000.

The polyester yarn produced by Noyfil SA is mainly used in the following sectors: automotive (interior and seat upholstery), interior design (curtains and furniture upholstery), apparel and other technical and industrial applications (filters, membranes, etc).

The main geographical market is Europe and Turkey, but satisfying results were also achieved in new markets with huge potential, such as India and the Middle East.

As pointed out during the inauguration by Maurizio Radici, RadicGroup vice chairman, the new automated line is an important technological innovation that will ensure better service to customers and make the Swiss Noyfil an important partner in the design and development of new products tailored to the diverse needs of our customers.

“Noyfil SA,” stated Mr. Radici, “is proof that, by developing products of the highest quality targeted at specialized and niche markets and providing good customer service, it is possible to succeed in the synthetic fibres industry without resorting to delocalizing production to countries with cheaper labour costs.”

The new line completes the automation of the Noyfil production process—from spinning to packaging, lab analyses and yarn quality control—and will provide competitive advantages in finished product quality and the optimization of logistics and product distribution to customers.
