According to the chemical fiber supply and demand statistics by Textile Trade Association, in April 2007, China (statistical sample enterprises) produced 502,443 tons of chemical fibers, an increase of 1549 tons or 0.31 percent over March, but a decrease of 28,162 tons, or 5.30 percent from the same period of last year.
Sales of chemical fibers in April read 525,941 tons, a boost 4175 tons or 0.80 percent over March. This represented a drop of 31,383 tons or 5.65 percent from the same time last year.
Inventory for the month came to 132,284 tons, a fall of 24,423 tons or 15.58 percent from March and down 32,762 tons or 19.85 percent on year-on-year level.
The production and sales rate for the month was 104.28 percent, a growth of 0.51 percent over March, but less 0.38 percent from the same period last year.
Inventory level for the month stood at 26.33 percent, plunge of 4.96 percent from March, and 5.78 percent below the same time last year.
Chemical fiber sales mainly concentrated Jiangsu and Zhejiang Province, inflowing volume accounting for 20 percent of the country's total sales.
