Indian home decor set to storm homes globally

Indian decor is catching fad right in Europe, believe it or not!

Designer Indian decor is hot in the European homes which carry motifs from mythology to the latest designer prints that add a splash of red, blue and yellow, all over.

Ending to quotas have spurred the demand for Indian home decor products and like Indian textile companies, decor majors are eyeing European and other markets.

Shortly, an International Home Decor Park will come up near New Delhi, which will provide the much needed booster for the Indian industry.

Reports suggest that Indian handicrafts recorded 15 per cent growth last year. In the current year, handicraft exports are likely to cross US $3 billion.

Organised sector home textile exports are set to rise from Rs 1 billion to about Rs 20 billion, experts opine.

The Indian decor industry is set to grow at 24 percent in the coming three to five years within the Asian decor market.

The International Home Deco Park would be the first multi- dimensional park in Asia where exporters will display their decorative products.

India can easily exploit international home decor markets, much easily than China can, say industry insiders.

Chief Operating Officer, International Home Decor Park, Divya Prakash Ahuja inform that India's forte lies in its techniques, design, quality and the finish that it provides.

With only Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as its major competitors India can easily overcome the International challenge, and can provide innovative home decor collections of hand finished curtain rods and finials, evolved from classical designs, among other items.

Besides, several Europeans and the US markets are yet to be tapped up to potential, even by its competitors, so Indian home decor industry has all it requires to make a headway in international markets.
