Al-Shuwaib's delegation included the Managing Director of International Marketing, Mr. Abdullatif Al-Houti, accompanied by his Deputy Managing Directors, Mr. Fahad Al-Nashmi and Mr. Yousef Al-Qabandi, and Mr. Hussain Esmaiel, President of Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), accompanied by his Vice President, Mr. Mohammad Rashed Jasem.

The tour, which lasted from 25 November -7 December 2007, began with Tokyo- Japan, followed by Beijing and Guangzhou in China, Seoul- Korea, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam, Taipei-Taiwan, and concluded in Mumbai and New Delhi in India.

Al-Shuwaib and his delegation were received positively by their hosts in Tokyo, Seoul, and Taipei, especially since this was the first trip for a Chief Executive Officer to meet with the Corporation's major customers in the Far East. His visit delivered a clear message that KPC is committed to its customers, and that it wants to be viewed as a lifelong partner, not just an oil supplier.

All the customers unanimously thanked Al-Shuwaib for the excellent customer service that the international marketing sector provides them and for its continuous cooperation with them on any issues and problems that they face.

The customers also commended KPC Offices in Tokyo, Beijing, and Mumbai for the good work they are doing in maintaining good relations with them and in continuously being attuned to their needs.

KPC's delegation also met with executives from SINOCHEM Corporation, PetroChina, and SINOPEC Corporation in Beijing. During the latter meeting, the CEO had a positive and fruitful discussion with SINOPEC Chairman, Mr. Su Shulin, and SINOPEC President, Mr. Wang Tianpu, and shared ideas in areas of mutual interest regarding the development of their US$5 billion domestic oil refinery and petrochemical joint venture in the Guangdong province.
